First LEGO League – Wize Mustangs & Marvels Teams Progresses to North Texas Regional Tournament

Team 1 – Mustangs

Wize Mustangs team has progressed to the North Texas Regionals TournamentFirst LEGO League inspires youth through hands-on STEM learning and exploration at an early age. It is widely considered as a premium worldwide robotics competition for young learners.
The team won 1st place – Champion’s Award.
Champion’s Award – This award celebrates a team that embodies the FIRST ® LEGO® League Challenge experience by fully embracing the Core Values while achieving excellence and innovation in Robot Performance, Robot Design, and the Innovation Project.
The team comprises of learners from the following schools:
  • Uplift Northhills Preparatory
  • Coppell Middle School, Coppell ISD
  • Pioneer Heritage Middle School, Frisco ISD
The theme for this year is Super Powered – explore where energy comes from, how it is distributed, stored and used. Their innovation project was Stacked Turbines (stack multiple wind turbines in a tall and wide structure – interlock traditional wind turbines into a massive grid).

Team 2 – Marvels

Wize Marvel Engineers team has progressed to the North Texas Regionals TournamentFirst LEGO League inspires youth through hands-on STEM learning and exploration at an early age. It is widely considered as a premium worldwide robotics competition for young learners.
Core Values Award –  This team displays extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit, knows they can accomplish more together than they could as individuals, and shows each other and other teams respect at all times.
Robot Performance Award –  This award celebrates a team that scores the most points during the Robot Game. Teams have a chance to compete in at least three 2.5-minute matches, and their highest score counts.
The team comprises of learners from the following schools:
  • Medlin Middle School, Northwest ISD
  • Greenhill School
  • Coppell Middle School, Coppell ISD
  • Founders Classical Academy, Flower Mound
The theme for this year is Super Powered – explore where energy comes from, how it is distributed, stored and used. Their innovation project was an Eco Cooler, a low cost solution to air conditioning.
