Inside a Wize coding and robotics class
Kids spend most of every session building, testing and fixing their own projects, with an instructor right beside them.

12+ coding, robotics and STEM streams for kids in Newmarket and Bradford
Choose from more than 12 learning streams, and keep growing from one to the next. Every stream is project-based. Students learn a concept, then use it to build something real: a robot that solves a challenge, a game their friends can play, an AI model they trained themselves.
LEGO Robotics & Engineering
Design, build and program robots with LEGO Education and VEX kits, learning motors, sensors and the engineering design process.
Scratch & ScratchJr Coding
Build animations, stories and games with block-based code, the foundation every later stream builds on.
Python Programming
Write real text-based code to make games, drawings and programs, then use it for data and AI projects.
Minecraft Education Coding
Code, design and build inside Minecraft Education, practising logic, problem-solving and teamwork in a world kids already love.
AI & Machine Learning
Learn how AI works by training models and building AI projects. We teach kids to think without AI, with it, and about it.
3D Design & Printing
Model objects in 3D design software and turn them into printed prototypes, building spatial reasoning along the way.
Game Design with Roblox
Design 3D worlds, script game logic and publish multiplayer games that friends and family can play.
AR & VR Creation
Code interactive virtual tours, stories and simulations, and step inside the worlds you build.
Drone Coding
Program drones to fly coded missions through an obstacle course, writing block code and Python side by side.
Mobile App Development
Design and build working mobile apps that use a phone's sensors and real data.
Web Design
Build and publish websites with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, the same tools professionals use.
Young Entrepreneurs
Spot a problem, design a solution, build a prototype and pitch it to mentors at the end-of-term showcase.
What your child learns at each age
Students are grouped by age and experience, so a beginner and a returning student each get the right challenge. No coding experience is needed to start.
- Ages 4–6JK – Grade 1
Hands-on building, early coding with ScratchJr, and simple LEGO machines that move. Short activities sized for small hands and short attention spans.
- Ages 7–10Grades 2 – 5
Scratch games and animations, LEGO SPIKE robots with sensors, Minecraft coding and first 3D designs.
- Ages 11–14Grades 6 – 9
Python, AI projects, Roblox game design, advanced robotics and competition preparation for FIRST LEGO League.
- Ages 15–18Grades 10 – 12

How a Wize class works
- Small groups with one-to-one help from a trained instructor.
- A project every session. Students learn one concept, then apply it to something they build.
- Hard and soft skills together. Coding and engineering alongside creativity, teamwork, communication and confidence.
- Hands-on and screen-free when it helps. Many projects include unplugged building and design challenges.
- A showcase at the end of each term, where students present their work to family and friends.
Ontario curriculum
Builds on the coding Ontario students learn in class
Ontario added coding to the elementary math curriculum in 2020, and its Science and Technology curriculum has taught coding from Grade 1 since 2022. Wize classes give students in York Region and Simcoe County more time to practise those skills on real projects, and to go further into robotics, AI and design than a classroom period allows.
Our programs follow K–12 computer science standards and grow with your child, from a first block of code in JK to Python and machine learning in high school.
For principals, school councils and preschool directors

Questions parents ask
- What ages do you teach in Newmarket and Bradford?
- Children and teens ages 4 to 18, from JK to Grade 12. Students are grouped by age and experience, so a five-year-old building their first LEGO robot and a Grade 9 student writing Python each get work at the right level.
- Does my child need coding experience?
- No. Most students start with none. Younger children begin with block-based coding and hands-on building, and older students move into text-based languages such as Python as they progress.
- Where do classes take place?
- At elementary schools right after dismissal, at preschools and child care centres, at community centres, and live online. Contact us to find out whether a club runs at your child's school, or to start one.
- How much do classes cost?
- Fees depend on the program and the number of sessions, and are shown at registration. Families enrol and pay Wize directly, so there is no cost to the school. You can book a free trial class before you enrol.
- Do you run PA day, March Break and summer camps?
- Yes, Wize runs themed coding, robotics and AI camps during school breaks. Contact us to hear about upcoming camp dates in Newmarket, Bradford and nearby communities.
- How can our school bring Wize to campus?
- Principals, school councils and preschool directors can request a club by emailing [email protected]. We provide the trained instructor, the curriculum, all equipment and online registration. The school provides a room for an hour after dismissal.
