FAQ

Why Learn Coding and/or Robotics?

Coding and robotics by themselves are already very important skills in the real world. More and more professions require the need for coding, and according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, software developer employment is projected to increase 22% from 2020 to 2030. Additionally, robotics is a foundation for almost every type of engineering. Starting at such an early age gives your child a head start in the real world.

Learning robotics or coding can also foster other facets of one’s life. Coding and robotics teach how to approach problems, break them down, and solve them systematically which is an important part of life no matter what the occasion. Coding and robotics also cultivates creativity, innovation, and communication.

Who Can Enroll and What Class Should I Enroll My Child In?

Will The Classes Be In-Person or Online?

We have both options! We have live online classes taught by instructors, and in-person classes/camps based on your location.

Can my 4 year old do the curriculum?

Yes they can! We have block coding which is not too difficult so that they can develop the logic of coding. This logic is better when learned young, so it can be built upon by the different activities your child might do in the future. For example, in computer science, the basic logic and computational thinking developed through block coding will allow your child to easily understand difficult topics.

How can I support my child?

To support your child, you can help encourage their creative pursuit and create goals together. If needed, you can observe and give them feedback. Remind them not to give up and even if they make a mistake, you can help them fix it by going step-by-step until a solution is found. Also, you can contact Wize Computing Academy or ask their coding instructor for any help. In general, be there for them and offer assistance if necessary.

Will my child have opportunities to work with other students?

Yes, your child will have multiple opportunities to collaborate with other students. As well as this, they will be discussing some of their ideas and issues with peers on certain projects.

What will my child be learning?

Your child will be learning based upon their level. This ranges from scratch programming, to mobile app development, to web development, to VEX robotics, to game design . There’s a wide variety that your child can learn based upon their interest! To see more information upon this, either go to the curriculum section of the website or to our approach.
